GSO Gaziantep Food Cluster Holds Key Business Engagements in New York

The Gaziantep Food and Innovation Cluster of the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO) participated in the Summer Fancy Food Show 2026 in New York.

The U.S. Overseas Marketing Delegation, organized under the Gaziantep Food and Innovation Cluster UR-GE Project coordinated by the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO) with the support of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, successfully completed its program in New York, United States.

The 17-member delegation, consisting of 15 representatives from 11 Gaziantep-based companies and two representatives from collaborating institutions, visited the Summer Fancy Food Show 2026, one of the world's most prestigious trade exhibitions for the food industry. Throughout the exhibition, the delegation explored the latest global trends and innovative products in the food sector while engaging with industry professionals from around the world. The event brought together manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers from numerous countries, providing an important platform for discussions aimed at fostering new international business partnerships.

As part of the exhibition program, the delegation also visited the booths of Gaziantep Chamber of Industry member companies exhibiting at the Summer Fancy Food Show 2026. During the visit, the delegation met with Trade Attaché Osman Nuri Gökbulut to exchange views on the U.S. market, recent sectoral developments, and potential areas of commercial cooperation.

The delegation also met with H.E. Muhittin Ahmet Yazal, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in New York, at the Turkish House (Türkevi). Discussions focused on the economic and commercial relations between Türkiye and the United States, as well as opportunities to further expand bilateral trade.

As part of the program, the delegation visited the New York Branch of the Anatolian Lions Businessmen's Association (ASKON), where consultations were held on strengthening trade relations between the two countries. The delegation also participated in the Türkiye–U.S. Trade and Cooperation Summit, organized jointly by the Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC) and the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce & Industry U.S.A. (TACCI). During the summit, delegation members met with representatives of the Turkish and American business communities to discuss new cooperation opportunities and export potential.

WHAT IS THE UR-GE PROJECT?

The UR-GE (Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness) Project is implemented by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye under Communiqué No. 5973 on Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness. The program supports cluster-based and project-oriented export development activities carried out by cooperating institutions.

Under the program, which provides up to 75% government funding, participating companies benefit from a comprehensive range of support services, including needs assessments, training programs, consultancy services, overseas marketing activities, international buyer delegation organizations, and various initiatives designed to strengthen their international competitiveness and facilitate access to global markets.
