PROUD AWARD FOR GCI IN TOBB'S 70TH ANNIVERSARY

GCI, which registered Antep Baklava, Turkey's first European Union (EU) registered product, was awarded at TOBB's 70th anniversary events.

Award of Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GCI), which registered a Turkish product for the first time in the EU with Antep Baklava and received the first and only product registration in the category of origin registration, was presented to GCI President of Assembly Adil Sani Konukoğlu by the Minister of Trade Mehmet Muş and TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

GCI Chairman of the Assembly Adil Sani Konukoğlu, Chairman of the GCI Adnan Ünverdi, GCI TOBB Delegates Mustafa Topçuoğlu, Cevdet Akınal, Metin Erturhan, Mustafa Özgüler, Sami Konukoğlu, Metin Yıldırım Demir, Cemil Turgay Direkçi and GCI Secretary General Yusuf İymen attended the TOBB 70th anniversary events held in Ankara.

In the program, both EU geographical indication registered products were awarded and the delegates and general secretaries who served for 10-20-30 years were also given plaques.

Expressing her satisfaction for the award, GCI President of Assembly Adil Sani Konukoğlu said that the registration for Gaziantep cuisine and Antep Baklava, which is one of the most valuable cultural assets of our country, is a turning point for Turkey in this field in terms of geographical indication.
